Policies

The trustees of Hellesdon Parish Hall take seriously their commitment to the welfare of all those associated with the Parish Hall. With this in mind  we have adopted the following policies.

Safeguarding Policy for Children and Vulnerable Adults   May 2017 onwards

THIS POLICY applies to all usage of and activities in Hellesdon Parish Hall and also to any ancillary activities which are the responsibility of the Parish hall trustees. The policy's aim is to protect from abuse all children and vulnerable adults  regardless of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief. All children and vulnerable adults have the right to protection from abuse whether physical, verbal, sexual, bullying, exclusion or neglect.

The trustees of the Parish Hall will themselves uphold this policy and will bring it to the attention of all hirers and users and all associated with the Hall. It is the particular responsibility  of hirers/users to safeguard the members of their group.

No trustee, outside contractor, hirer or volunteer associated with the Hall shall have unsupervised access to children or vulnerable adults unless they are in possession of appropriate clearance such as from the DBS

(the Disclosure Barring Service).

Acceptance of the Parish Hall's safeguarding policy is part of the agreed contract made on hiring the Hall

A copy of this policy will be available on the Parish Hall website and also will be displayed on the Hall notice board for the attention of all. The policy will be reviewed on a regular basis.

Equal Opportunities Policy    May 2017 onwards

Equal opportunities are paramount and will be applied to all persons using the facilities of Hellesdon Parish Hall. Hiring agreements are made at the discretion of the trustees who are responsible for promoting a safe, harmonious environment where all persons are treated with respect. The trustees will do their utmost to ensure there is no discrimination on grounds of gender, ethnicity, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief. Since the Hall is close to residential properties, the welfare of near neighbours will be a consideration when making a hiring agreement. Bookings will be made on a first come, first served basis.

Where there is concern about any discrimination, this should be reported to the trustees who will listen to the allegation, treat the complainant with respect and respond appropriately.

Acceptance of the Parish Hall's equal opportunities policy is part of the agreed contract on hiring the Hall.

A copy of this policy will be available on the Parish Hall website and also will be displayed on the Hall notice board for the attention of all. The policy will be reviewed on a regular basis.
